“Destroying the beauty” is a project that speaks about women and the idea of beauty. Is born from the idea of destroying the clichés of a banal and nauseating beauty, a beauty that many women are pursuing. Faces too similar, bodies too perfect and smooth. So a beauty too exploited, banal. Destroy the beauty as a cage for women. The beauty is our prison. We lose too much time to appear beautiful to be displayed on a pedestal. Mute. We’re not in this envelope, we are ideas, intelligence, initiative, foresight, spirit. For what have fought the suffragette? They have fought to give us a new way to live life. Because their daughters and their grandchildren could choose to marry or not, to have children or not. Because we could express our ideals in order to THINK AND WRITE AND PAINTING AND EXPRESS OURSELVES. What can we do today? Destroy the ideal of beauty that makes us go back. Dolls beautiful but tonte. We must find our freedom!
